Karachi: Civil society here Sunday arranged a candlelight vigil in front of Karachi Press Club (KPC) to express solidarity with the daughter of the nation, Dr Aafia Siddiqui, on completion of the first three years of her 86-year sentence and demanded serious efforts on governmental level to secure her early release.  Holding banners and portraits of the jailed Pakistani mother, they chanted slogans demanding immediate release of Aafia. There seems no end to the long ordeal of Pakistani scientist Dr Afia Siddiqi.   It’s been more than ten years since she disappeared under mysterious circumstances from Karachi and then was picked up by the United States.  In 2010, she was sentenced to 86 years in prison on charges of shooting at her American interrogators in Afghanistan. Her family back in Pakistan and many other people believe that charges against Dr Afia are simply fabricated. They have long been seeking her release from the US custody.  And
